Klaarstroom Hotel

Klaarstroom, which translates to English as ‘clear stream’, is located in the heart of the Karoo, and proudly lies where the Great Karoo and Klein Karoo meet, on the path of South Africa’s famous Route 62.

Our vintage and quaint Klaarstroom Hotel originally opened its doors in 1874 and still retains many original Victorian features, while offering guests access to a charming swimming pool and bar.

Klaarstroom is steeped in history and remains one of the few remaining authentic Karoo villages. With its unique natural beauty and abundant nature.

The restaurant is bright and airy, serving delicious, traditional breakfasts, lunches and a select dinner menu. The original yellowwood bar offers a relaxing setting to enjoy a tipple of an evening, and join the repartee between local regulars.

The deep, inviting pool provides the perfect summer cooldown spot to relax with a drink from the adjacent bar. This social space sits at the foot of the mountain and on warm evenings, the outside restaurant area offers the perfect place to relax.
